THE LINN AMPLIFIER SYSTEM Starts where others stop and begins a new era in HI-Fi Electronics.
The Linn LKI is the first pre-amplifier to be controlled by a microprocessor. This makes possible a number of useful features new to quality hi-fi. For example, infrared remote, memorised volume levels, and being able to listen to one source while recording another.

Solid state switches. No mechanical wear.

Some of the results of this solid state circuitry are: an exceptionally quiet moving-coil input, immunity from radio interference and, because of the care devoted to the power supply regulation, isolation from mains distortion.

Then we come to the LK1's microprocessor. While we consider it the best way of controlling the solid-state circuitry, it also paves the way to the LK1's other breakthrough: exceptional flexibility in operation. For example, the memory function allows you to program the listening level you prefer for your different music sources - turntable, tape, video, radio tuner or CD.
You can also listen to one music source while recording another.

The Linn MIMIK uses the very latest CD pickup and decoding technology to deliver superb audio performance and tracking ability.
The internal DAC module used in the MIMIK employs delta-sigma conversion technology, which necessitates an extremely high quality clock signal. This clock signal is provided by a dedicated low phasenoise oscillator which feeds the DAC and decoder chip independently, keeping the signal free of any mechanism-induced noise modulation.
